Google and Apple are the obvious winners in the smartphone market during the June quarter of 2011, according to market research firm Gartner. The company released new data this week showing that Apple was the only device manufacturer of the top four to show market share gains, and only Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS gained share in the battle for operating system share.  Read Original Content

According to Gartner, Microsoft shifted fewer units than Bada and Research in Motion. Bada is Samsung’s own operating system.  The results mean Microsoft is placed sixth behind Android, Symbian, iOS and others.  Android took top place with 43 percent market share followed by Symbian with 22 percent and iOS with 18.2 percent.  Read Original Content
